Diocese of Norwich welcomes 15th Academy

The Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT) is set to welcome a fifteenth church school into in family with a thanksgiving and dedication service held on Thursday March 5 to mark the occasion

Kessingland Church of England Primary Academy is now among 15 church schools which belong to the family of the Multi Academy Trust

The Bishop of Thetford, the Rt Revd Alan Winton, who will be leading the service at the school just south of Lowestoft, will take a tour, meet the staff and pupils and cut a special ribbon to commemorate the occasion

He will then lead the special worship service for pupils and members of the school community which will take place in the school hall at 1.30pm. The Bishop will ensure that the youngest pupils won’t miss out, by visiting the Reception class in their classroom and sharing special prayers with them

The children will make and ice their own cakes and will enjoy them in their classrooms, while the Bishop takes the opportunity to chat to the school community over a cup of tea and a specially designed cake

Sue Sweet, Executive Headteacher, said: “We are really looking forward to the event and the children are very excited.  It will be a great opportunity for the school to appreciate the significance of becoming part of the academy family and to celebrate the start of the next exciting stage of our journey”
