News from the Mag September 2022
MATTHEW PRICE 04-2021

Reverend Matthew Price
Vicar, St Mary Magdalene Church, Gorleston

One of the highlights for me each year – and it was especially good for it to be back in 2022 after the pandemic – is the Out There Festival which takes place each September in Great Yarmouth

The Out There website describes the festival as a “Breathtaking spectacle and quirky comedy combine in a festival woven through with quality performance, family-friendly atmosphere and more than a fair dose of seaside silliness!” And that has certainly been my experience. In fact, it is difficult to even describe!

So, imagine my excitement when I learnt that, this year, as well as the weekend in Great Yarmouth, Out There in partnership with our friends at Freshly Greated (who we worked with on Summer on the Mag) were also going to be hosting smaller, but equally fun – and crazy – events on the Mag and in Cobholm this year

Mark Wednesday 14th September, between 5pm and 8pm in your diary when Out There on the Mag will take place on Magdalen Square. Sam Jinks, Programme Manager for Freshly Greated says, “The intention is to produce an evening packed with a varied mix of high-quality art suitable for a family audience – there will be a roam about dog-themed musical act, circus performances and a big finale with French drumming group Les Commando Percue”

And alongside all of that there will also be drop in art activities to join in with, refreshments and food concessions, and performances from local bands

I can’t wait – I hope you’re excited too. See you on the 14th!
