Broadland Christian offers free tech support

A Christian living in Wroxham is offering free technology support to anyone who is retired or disabled through an organisation called AbilityNet. Tony Rothe reports

Andrew Harding is a volunteer for AbilityNet which offers free technical support on any technology in the home, especially PCs, tablets, smart phones and smart speakers, like Amazon’s Alexa. Support can be over the phone, online or in person at your home, and is available to anyone one who is retired or is disabled. It would be especially useful for anyone struggling with online church services or Zoom meetings

And now I'm retired, I want to give something back to the community

“AbilityNet has a fantastic set up - all volunteers are DBS screened. We have the tools to support people remotely if necessary and with more than 350 volunteers networked across the UK, there is a tremendous range of skills, meaning it’s quite unlikely we will come across a problem we haven't seen before”

Although Andrew’s primary role with AbilityNet is coordinating volunteers in the Cambridge region, he is happy to provide local support in Norfolk as well, and recently re-united a repaired laptop with its owner in North Walsham
