Plea for contributions to great hat auction

IntegratehatIntegrate Youth for Christ are looking for people to knit, sew or crochet hats for their latest fundraising initiative which is a rather unusual event

The Great Integrate Hat Auction will also involve a fashion show and puddings and is particularly aimed at raising running costs for the ongoing work such as the youth cafes and lunchtime clubs in schools that IYFC run

Steph Richardson, director of Integrate Youth for Christ, says, “We wanted to run an event that was a bit different and could be supported by lots of different people that we have been in contact with. We have been teaching some of the young people at our youth cafes how to knit or crochet, so we are encouraging them to make hats or accessories, but we also want to involve their parents or grandparents, our volunteers and supporters or members of local churches. Those that don’t have the skill to make a hat, can also support the event by donating wool for the young people to use, or by making a pudding on the night. Some of the young people will be modelling the hats on the evening itself. We find it relatively easy to find funding for equipment or new projects, but a lot harder to find the costs to enable these great resources for young people to continue”

The hats can be any shape, style or size – all donations of hats would be appreciated, whether they are everyday hats, hats for special occasions or novelty hats, such as animal hats. We will also accept accessories such as wristwarmers, gloves, scarves or hair bands, all of which will be for sale at the auction just in time for Christmas

Great Integrate Hat AuctionIntegrate Youth for Christ aims to share the good news relevantly with young people in South Norfolk and North Suffolk. The youth cafes and school lunchtime clubs are the activities which allow IYFC to demonstrate God’s love to the young people and build relationships with them in order to share the Christian faith
