Celebrating the work of volunteers

 

 

A team of hard working volunteers has just celebrated the successful completion of The Look Ahead training programme run by Community Connections and The Priory Centre.

 
The course was designed to equip them with all the skills necessary to run a much needed drop in c124832entre at the heart of the Magdalen Community. Tony Mallion attended to congratulate the volunteers on their accomplishment and presented them with their certificates.
 
 
Rachel Houghton the trainer from Community Connections said “ I was overwhelmed by the dedication and enthusiasm of the 18 volunteers who attended 8 weeks of training which covered communication skills, working with diversity, food hygiene and first aid. They all entered into it with determination to succeed and were a joy to work with. I am sure that the drop in will be a huge success”.
 
 
The Bridge, the St Mary Magdalene Church drop in opens its doST ANDREWS SERVICE 007WEBors every Tuesday from September 22nd, providing a hot meal and companionship.  Rev Linda Ricketts would like to express her thanks to all those people who have supported the project and given their time to get the idea off the ground.
