Chance of cup final glory for church teams



With Chelsea and Manchester United having booked their Champions League final places, the Norfolk Christian Football League is staging its own cup final177959s over the next two weekends.

The showpiece Bishop’s Cup Final will be staged at Mulbarton United’s Mulberry Park in the village just south of Norwich on Saturday May 3 starting at 1.30pm and will feature cup holders Norwich Central Baptist Church against Kings Community Church in a repeat of last year’s final. NCBC are also going for a hat-trick of cup final wins.
The Shield Final will also take place at Mulbarton earlier in the day at 10.30am between teams from Meadow Way Chapel and Stalham Baptist Church.
Also on Saturday, at 9am at Thorpe High School, Brooke Adventurers and Holy Trinity 'A' meet in the play-off for the Under 14 league title.
Next weekend, Saturday May 10, will see the Youth League finals, played at Thorpe High School's 3G Astroturf pitches.  At 9am, Cringleford Hawks and Cringleford Harriers will contest the Under 12 cup and Broadland Lads and St Peter's Easton will contest the Under 14 cup.  At 10am, Brooke Adventurers and Norwich Central Baptist Church will play in the Under 16 cup.

League general secretary, Rob Varley, said: “
I hope all teams have a great time, whatever the outcome of the matches and let's pray for these finals, that they may be a great spectacle of football, but more importantly, pleasing to God and honouring to Him.”
